Another milestone was reached today as the Lifewide Learning, Education and Personal Development e-Book was launched. The e-book project will support the growth of new knowledge in the lifewide learning field, and address the growing need to view learning and development as a continuous process of self-determined and self-organised activities that stretch across lifewide) and throughout (lifelong) an individual's lifespan.

TED http://www.TED.com is an organisation whose mission is to spread ideas worth spreading around the world through its video recordings of speaker presentations. Through TEDx it also inspires others to create their opportunities for people to tell and record their stories and it now has an enormous archive of several thousand videos all less than 20mins long.

It's less than two months since we launched our lifewide education campaign and in that time our community has grown from 30 founding members to over 200 members. Most of our members are from the UK but we also have a fair number of international members from Australia, China, Ireland, Finland, New Zealand, South Africa, Turkey and USA. We are delighted that so many people see value in the ideas of lifewide learning and education.

During the first month, the lifewide education community has grown from 30 founding members to 155 members. The core team is delighted with the response to open invitations to a number of existing networks and we encourage members to spread the word to friends and colleagues who they think might be interested.
